All the photographs on this website are taken by me.
Photography has been a hobby since I was a child. Inspired by my father's love of the same hobby, he would take many pictures, mainly of sport, and especially cricket.
I am more into colour, flowers, animals, birds, butterflies, even stained glass windows.
A winter wander in March 2015 ... we walked in Hornchurch Country Park and heard a yaffle, but this was different the yaffle sounded 'distressed. Having peered through our binoculars there we saw the Green Woodpecker we had been searching for.
I swapped to my camera and the bird took off, flying towards us, I snapped as many shots as I could, the woodpecker landed, we walked towards it and flew off.
What happened when we got home was to lead to, by one estimate 1 in 10 of the worlds population viewing my image in one form or another.

Whether the wings are folded shut or wide open the patterns, colours and shapes of moths and butterflies is intriguing
My mother loved birds and was, along with her brother Bert, excellent and identifying, yellow-hammers, green or bull finches, woodpeckers. This influenced in me a love of birds, I love the tranquility of being 'in the wild' - and the thrill of seeing a 'lifer' is still a big thrill.
